Recovery Consulting

Structured work in three phases: diagnosis, remediation planning, and guided implementation. Each phase has defined deliverables and a clear outcome.

We don't offer generic SEO audits. We work specifically with sites that experienced a significant, documented drop in organic traffic and need to understand what caused it before they can fix it.

Phase 01

Diagnostic Analysis

The diagnostic phase is the foundation of everything. We analyze your organic traffic data, Search Console coverage and performance reports, manual action history, and backlink profile against a documented timeline of Google algorithm updates.

The goal is to identify the specific signal or signals that caused Google to reduce your site's visibility. Not a list of possible causes. A documented diagnosis with the evidence that supports it.

What this phase includes

  • Traffic drop timeline analysis against algorithm update history
  • Search Console coverage and manual action review
  • Content quality signal assessment for affected pages
  • Backlink profile analysis with anchor text pattern review
  • Competitor SERP comparison for affected query categories
  • Written diagnostic report with documented findings
  • Findings presentation call

Deliverables

  • Written diagnostic report
  • Cause identification with evidence
  • Prioritized issue list
  • Findings presentation call

Typical Timeline

7 to 14 business days from intake completion

Phase 02

Remediation Planning

Based on the diagnostic findings, we build a specific remediation plan. Each item on the plan connects directly to a documented issue. Nothing is included speculatively. You know what you're fixing, why you're fixing it, and what a successful fix looks like.

The remediation plan also sequences the work correctly. Some fixes need to happen before others. Some issues require you to wait for a Google recrawl before moving to the next step. The plan accounts for those dependencies.

What this phase includes

  • Itemized remediation list with rationale for each item
  • Sequenced implementation order with dependency notes
  • Reconsideration request drafting (for manual action cases)
  • Content improvement specifications for affected pages
  • Disavow file review and documentation (if applicable)
  • Success criteria and monitoring checkpoints

Deliverables

  • Prioritized remediation plan
  • Implementation sequence
  • Reconsideration request draft
  • Monitoring checkpoint schedule

Typical Timeline

3 to 5 business days after diagnostic phase

Phase 03

Guided Implementation

Implementation guidance keeps your team on track through the recovery process. We review work outputs before they go live, provide written guidance for each remediation item, and check in at defined milestones to assess progress and adjust the plan if new data warrants it.

This phase continues through the next relevant algorithm update cycle after implementation is complete. Recovery timing is not in our control, but monitoring the right signals and interpreting them correctly is.

What this phase includes

  • Bi-weekly check-in calls during implementation
  • Written review of reconsideration request before submission
  • Content revision review for affected pages
  • Search Console monitoring and interpretation
  • Algorithm update response guidance as updates occur
  • Post-implementation monitoring through next update cycle

Deliverables

  • Bi-weekly check-in calls
  • Work output reviews
  • Monitoring reports
  • Post-update interpretation

Typical Timeline

Varies by case; typically 2 to 6 months

Common Questions

What clients ask before engaging

Do you guarantee recovery?

No. Recovery from Google penalties and algorithm suppression depends on factors outside our control, including how Google re-evaluates your site after remediation. We can identify the problem, build the right plan, and guide implementation correctly. The outcome depends on how well the remediation addresses Google's concerns.

How long does recovery take?

Manual action recovery can happen within days of a successful reconsideration request. Algorithm recovery depends on when Google runs its next relevant update, which can be weeks or months. We give you specific timeline expectations based on your case type, not generic estimates.

What access do you need?

Read access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics for the affected property. We also need a clear written summary of your traffic history, what you've tried, and any manual action notices you've received. We don't need access to your hosting or CMS unless reviewing specific technical issues.

Do you work on all types of sites?

We work with sites across most content categories. We review each intake request individually and will tell you if your situation falls outside what our diagnostic process can address. Some cases, such as sites with very recent traffic drops that haven't yet been confirmed as penalty-related, may need more time before engaging.
